Pan-flat and peaceful, our opening loop takes in the river Trent and Beeston Canal before heading west, to and into the stunning wildlife (and wildfowl) beauty of the Attenborough Nature Reserve. We’ll keep you above water as you walk, jog or run and immerse yourself with enjoyment, homeward bound and, maybe, as well-earned refreshment within the marina complex.
Take a gothic revival castle, add in some woodland, parkland and formal gardens, and throw in some riverside scenes for good measure. That’s our Castle Canter. We’ll keep your feet firmly on the ground as you enjoy the views on this flat and rewarding route, the majority of which is on firm, packed trails.
The historic inland water port of Shardlow serves up a serene and pan-flat route that bears witness to life on and around canal and river. Sheep and nearby pubs contribute to the title, which, like the route itself, is everything a runner or walker could want!
This rewarding loop commences by the infamous 200 million-year-old Hemlock Stone and up into Stapleford Hills along The Robin Hood Way. You’ll soon ease into a nice rhythm along the disused Nottingham Canal before heading back up into the Bramcote Hills. Enjoy the rewarding views and a beautiful woodland trail ahead of a parkland finish situated alongside the main car park.
With a bombs to butterflies heritage, Rushcliffe Country Park will enchant as we help weave your way amidst grasslands, meadows and woodland. You’ll never be far away from your lakeside start and finish point as myriad trails will provide a peaceful rhythm throughout.
Three slivers of greenbelt land combine to offer up a richly varied and fascinating exploration. There’s woodland wonder before sauntering past Toton Sidings. A brief canal caper too before a final flat section amidst your urban surrounds.
